4th of July Golf Cart Parade on Bald Head Island

Happy 4th of July to everyone!

The Coastal Urge staff of Bald Head Island was excited to join in on an annual tradition here, the golf cart parade. We thought we’d give you a look at some of this year’s participants (see Flickr slideshow below).

Entrants ranged from patriotic, to political, to downright fun and silly. Of course Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty were out in full-force but also in the line-up were Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, a whole gang of pirates, World Cup athletes, Spongebob Square Pants (that’s “Bob Esponja” in Portuguese in case any of you were wondering), Canadian Olympic hockey fans, the Bald Head Island ferry “Ranger,” the Little Mermaid, Buzz Lightyear, Bald Head Island’s very own fraternity/sorority: Beta Eta Iota (BHI, get it?), Tiger Woods and his entourage of lady friends, aliens set to invade the marshes, some very enthusiastic Taylor Swift fans, a giant bluefin tuna, even those crazy kids from The Jersey Shore made an appearance.

Coastal Urge sent two of our carts, decked-out with paddleboards, pinwheels, and of course, two of the island’s favorite canines and official Coastal Urge mascots, Brewer and Emma. It was such a fun morning that the dogs are still sprawled-out across the wood floors trying to catch their breath!
